The Zacurate 500C pulse oximeter is the Elite version of the Amazon Zacurate 500DL Pro Series Pulse Oximeter. In addition to measuring your SpO2 (Blood oxygen saturation level) value and pulse rate accurately and reliably, the deluxe version has many other helpful features like the plethysmograph and alarm. It is manufactured according to the CE and FDA standards set for sports and aviation pulse oximeters.
The plethysmograph provides a visual representation of your heartbeat and the amount of blood flowing through your blood vessels. Helps determine the optimal time to take a reading.

Press and hold the pulse oximeter's power button to adjust the brightness levels of the OLED screen.
For your convenience, display can be rotated, offering 6 different layout options. Choose the layout that you can read conveniently or switch to another layout for your caregiver to read.
Each wave (see image) corresponds to a heart beat and the wave amplitude corresponds to the amount of blood detected. If the wave amplitude is low, this means that your blood perfusion is too low for a reliable read. You should retake your measurement and make sure that your finger is positioned right under the LED lights.
Q: How do I know the battery is low?
A: The battery icon will display the low power indicator. Please replace the batteries.
Q: Can the 500C Pulse Oximeter be used on children?
A: Yes. However, we highly recommend using our children pediatric pulse oximeter (B01IDMQK96) instead which is specifically made for children. The finger chamber of the 500C Pulse Oximeter may be too big for children with small fingers. This might affect the accuracy of the reading.
Q: What is the pulse rate range the pulse oximeter can register?
A: The digital pulse oximeter is able to measure pulse rate between 30 and 250 beats per minute (bpm).
Q: Why does the reading fluctuate and why is the reading different on different fingers?
A: It is normal and natural for your SpO2 and/or Pulse rate to fluctuate as the amount of arterial blood pulses and changes with each heartbeat. Also, unlike a thermometer, which gives you a snapshot of your vitals at a particular moment, the pulse oximeter measures your vitals in real-time. A ±3% fluctuation in your SpO2 is considered normal.
