How to Clean Stained Cedar Siding, Shakes, Shingles and Wood Roofs

Cedar Wash General Use Information

Use Wash Safe Cedar Wash to clean old cedar shake roofs, cedar shingle siding, cedar fencing or any other cedar used outdoors. Use on old cedar to remove the outer layer then reveal new, clean looking cedar. Use as the ultimate specialty surface prep before sealing, staining or painting cedar. Old stains and sealers rinse right off with Cedar Wash and a pressure washer.

Cedar Wash Cleaning Preparation

Wash Safe Cedar Wash is a concentrate. See Coverage Area to the right to determine how many gallons of solution you'll need.

• Add 1/2 a cup powder per gallon of warm-to-hot water. Double the strength to remove tough stains.
• Mix well and consistently for 15 minutes to activate the solution. You must stir consistently to get best results prior to use.

Never mix with other cleaning agents or bleach!

Cedar Wash Cleaning Application

• Apply with garden style pump sprayer or other pump/spray system
• Clean cedar with a scrub brush and hose off or use pressure washer to rinse surface clean.
• Once dry, seal the newly cleaned surface with Wash Safe Cedar Seal to keep surface protected.
