Place the coco coir block in a large container or a wheelbarrow.
Add water until bricks are fully submerged. Use roughly 4-6 gallons of water per brick
Let soak 10-15 minutes until bricks soften.
Break apart any remaining clumps until coco coir is uniform

What type of water should be used?
While any household water is adequate, the quality of water will impact the Electrical Conductivity and the salt content in the final soil. Warm water works better and faster, but warm water is not necessary.
Can coco coir soil be used for seed starting?
Absolutely. For seed starting, we recommend wring out excess moisture until no more drips. Use immediately or spread out to dry.
How much coco coir should I use to amend soil?
There is no single ideal ratio for amending soil with coco coir, as it depends on factors like your specific soil type. Start with a moderate 30% ratio and monitor your soil. Adjust the ratio up or down based on the results with your specific soil
Does it help to dry the coco coir soil in sun?
Yes, it does, especially if there is an odor of ammonia.
Is it common to have mold in coco coir soil?
Mold can occur for many reasons in any soil. Do not oversaturate the coco coir, dry out the soil between watering, solarize before use, provide air circulation and replace annually.
