How it all started
In 1922, Joseph Kresevich arrived in the United States from Trieste, Italy and began working in the neighborhood bakeries of New York City. He loved the craft so much that he began creating his own recipes.
Joseph and his wife Angela, an expert baker herself, later established their own bakery, calling it Stella D’oro, which means 'star of gold.' They offered a select variety of lightly sweet Italian baked goods.
Now, decades later, you can still taste the fresh-baked flavors of Joseph and Angela’s neighborhood bakery in every bite.
