In 1952, Blayney Scott and his wife Almeda Scott started a small company in Victoria, British Columbia that pioneered the use of plastics in the manufacturing of salmon fishing, lures and other marine products. From humble beginnings, Scotty Manufacturing evolved to produce thousands of products under the Scotty which are sold to the fishing, marine, outdoor and firefighting industries worldwide. The company is now situated near the YYJ Victoria International Airport in an 85,000 sq.ft. manufacturing plant built in 2000, and has recently expanded. Scotty has become recognized to mean product excellence.
