Römertopf watering guide.

Watering your Römertopf.

Soaking the Römertopf before use saturates its porous clay, creating a steam effect during cooking. The absorbed water slowly evaporates in the oven, keeping food moist, tender, and flavorful while preventing it from drying out or burning. It also protects the pot from cracking due to sudden heat exposure.

The Römertopf is safe to use in the oven, microwave, and dishwasher.
  • Why is it called Römertopf?

In 1966 / 1967, a lot of thought was given to the new brand name, and various variants were discussed. The name Römertopf was chosen because of the Romans' great love of food. Italy stands for the most wonderful food and healthy dishes.
