An Innovative Detector
The OEMTOOLS 27145 Combustion Leak Detector offers a quick and efficient way to test for combustion leaks that result from head gasket, cylinder head, and engine block leaks. This easy-to-use tool pulls air from the cooling system up through the leak tester fluid (sold separately: OEMTOOLS 25739). If carbon dioxide is present, the leak tester fluid color will change to yellow—signifying a combustion leak.
Heavy-Duty Applications
For use with gasoline engines only and to be used with OEMTOOLS 25739 Combustion Leak Detection Fluid (sold separately), the combustion detector was designed for professional auto mechanics and heavy-duty applications. This tool cannot be used with diesel engines. All pieces fit in a sturdy carrying case.
Color-Changing Results
If combustion gases are present in the cooling system--as a result of a cracked head, cracked block, or leaking cylinder head gasket--the test fluid will change from a blue (or blue green) to a yellow color. With the resulting color, you'll know the next steps to take in your repair process.
