NaturesGoodGuys Sf Nematodes (Steinernema feltiae) are beneficial, soil-dwelling microscopic organisms that seek out and control soil pests such as fungus gnats, root aphids, shore flies, and other root-feeding larvae. They actively hunt their hosts and provide natural, chemical-free pest control in potted plants, greenhouse, and garden soils.
Target Pests: Fungus gnat larvae, Thrips larvae, Crane Fly Larvae, Squash Vine Borer Larvae, & more.
- Introduction Sites: Use indoors or outdoors in potted plants or directly in the soil.
- Introduction Rates:
- Preventative/Light: 5 million per 300 sq. ft.
- Moderate/Heavy: 5 million per 50 sq. ft.
- Seasonal application recommended for prevention. Weekly to monthly application recommended for active infestations. Adjust as needed.
- Introduction Method: Apply to moist soil using a watering can or sprayer, distributing evenly over the treatment area. Apply during early morning or evening and maintain normal soil moisture levels for two weeks. 53°F+ soil temperature required.
- Shipping: Nematode powder in poly bag, padded pack with ice pack.
- The ice pack is expected to be melted and warm upon arrival. If the nematodes are no longer viable, they will have a fishy or rotten smell.
- Storage: For best results, introduce immediately upon receipt. If storage is necessary, store at 36-45°F for no more than 30 days (refrigerate). Store in a dark place. Do not freeze. Once activated, release within 1-6 hours.
