'Peak of Flavor' Coffee

Here at Klatch, we take great care at every step of the journey.

Each bean has what we call a “peak of flavor”. This is the flavor that is “locked” in the bean through different environmental factors, and the way that the coffee is processed factors into the flavor as well. The roaster’s job is to consider the factors that our farming partners take into account each growing season, and, in a mad scientist sort of way—Mike is also a chemical engineer—roast each individual coffee varietal to its unique peak flavor profile. This process is what we call our signature “Peak of Flavor” roasting style, and it’s earned us both awards and loyal coffee drinkers across the globe.

Simply put, each individual coffee varietal is roasted to its unique peak flavor profile.

Roasted Fresh to Order

So it comes to you nice and fresh, but needs to stay that way as long as possible. So it needs to stay away from oxygen, that's an enemy. - grabbing hold of it's freshness and flavor.

Ideally, you're going to grind right when you brew, a fresh brew of Klatch Coffee is best represented with our whole bean coffee, this allows you to capture freshness and essential oils from beans by grinding right before you brew.

Direct Trade

Our Klatch Direct Trade Coffee journey begins with a partnership with like-minded producers - those who share our same commitment to ethics, excellence, environmental stewardship, quality, and community.

Our commitment to honest business practices means we build trust and loyalty with the farmers we work with.

Klatch follows a Direct Trade Coffee model that is designed to meet the needs of the families in today’s market. We buy straight from the growers, cutting out the traditional middleman. In doing so we're able to pay well above Fair-Trade minimums - by at least 25% - but often pay double or triple those prices based on the cup quality. Our buying model is designed to push the envelope of quality coffee by encouraging viable, meaningful careers in specialty coffee agriculture.

Coffee is Never Finished

We don’t hang our hats on our accolades. We commit to the craft every morning—fueled by multiple cups of coffee, usually. It takes many tries to get a roast just right, and that’s the joy and challenge of it. It’s a journey, and we wouldn’t have it any other way.
