Kenwood Excelon speakers incorporate advanced materials to give your music the full, rich sound it deserves. These full-range speakers sport a diamond-array pattern etched into their woofers that increases the strength of the carbon-polypropylene cone for improved dynamic response and lower distortion. The butyl rubber surround resists weathering, providing reliable support that keeps your music playing, no matter what.
The KFC-X683C 6"x8" full-range speakers feature 1-3/16" balanced dome tweeters that deliver all the high-frequency details without sounding harsh. Because of their precisely designed magnetic circuitry and neodymium magnets, these compact tweeters use less steel in their construction than most tweeters, so you hear more accurate response.
The woofer cones are constructed of Carbon-PP (polypropylene) with a diamond array pattern. The woofers feature butyl rubber surrounds for a smoother response and improved durability.
The 6x8" speaker's frame features two additional mounting holes which allows the speaker to fit in 5x7" openings of select Ford and Mazda vehicles.
Each speaker uses a 1-3/16" PEI balanced-dome tweeter. PEI (Poly-Ether Imide) is a polymer film that has ideal sound characteristics, making it ideal for use as a tweeter. A PEI balanced-dome tweeter produces a wide sound stage for better imaging.
