Kenetrek Pac Boots are made with a premium 6 Ounce chrome-tanned leather that provides incredible durability and waterproofing. The thick 6 Ounce leather creates a stiff, solid structure for increased ankle support while providing tough-as-nails durability. The leather is also subjected to a chrome-tanning process that creates a high degree of water repellency, which prevents water from saturating the material and keeping your feet dry.
Kenetrek Pac Boots feature a specialized nylon thread with a high tensile strength and ultra-durable "triple stitch" stitching pattern throughout the boot. We even go one step beyond and use a special "lock stitch" stitch pattern to make sure your boots won't fail on you when you need them the most.
The bottoms of Kenetrek Pac Boots are made from over 30 pieces of raw rubber and reinforcements. This pain-staking process requires precise placement by hand, then the bottom is vulcanized and fused together (like a tire) into a single, one-piece waterproof bottom of exceptional durability and comfort. Add in a steel shank for increased footbed reinforcement and you've got a boot that will support you no matter where you go.
The fit and comfort of your Kenetrek Pac Boot is dependent on the lace hardware. Without the correct design and components your boots will fit loosely, lacking support and allowing heat to escape. Our special Snug-Fit lacing design features a contoured design, durable stud hooks and a Power D-Ring lace anchor to provide the ultimate in comfort and ankle support.
A little water in your boots is all it takes to go from total comfort to absolute misery. Letting your feet sit in water has much worse consequences than just shriveled skin, it drastically increases the development of blisters, infections and severe foot injuries due to weak, softened skin. Kenetrek Pac Boots solve this problem with a three-fold approach; vulcanized rubber bottoms for absolute waterproofness, chrome-tanned leather to repel water and prevent leather saturation, and a specialized triple-stitched "lock stitch" barrier to stop seepage.
Our custom Kenetrek Pac Boot liners are quilted from three separate materials: a durable wicking synthetic interior, a layer of 400 gram Thinsulate Ultra Insulation for warmth without the bulk, and then topped off by a three millimeter high grade wool felt for insulation even when damp. Made of the high quality materials, the liners are also removable and replaceable, allowing you to keep your feet warm and dry for years to come.
The famous Tractor Tread Outsole is ideal for snow and ice. The open, flexible tread pattern prevents ice and snow buildup, allowing the rubber to stay in close contact with the ground. The design also provides a broad surface area with more direct connection to the ground per square inch, providing increased grip and traction on ice.
Here in Montana, Pac Boots are our everyday "go-to" boot for winter weather because they fit like an all-leather boot, take all the punishment we can dish out and wrap us in total warmth. That incredible cold-weather comfort is provided by a layer of 400 gram Thinsulate Ultra insulation, and for good measure we include a 3mm layer of quality wool felt on top as well. This combination provides excellent heat retention, natural odor resistance and the ability to insulate even when wet.
Kenetrek Boots was born in 2005 out of our passion for sheep hunting and our desire to find a pair of boots that wouldn't leave our feet beat up and screaming in pain after a hard day chasing game. Twenty years have passed now, and we've continued to design, test in the field, modify and repeat.
