Our legendary Shocker XL Train Horns are by far our most popular train horns and a staple in our famous Conductors Special Train Horn Kits for good reason: the Shocker XL Train Horns are hands down the best bang for your buck. Hand-tuned to the exact specifications of the US Train Horn Chord, our Shocker XL Train Horns not only sound just like the real deal, but they are just as loud. With only a difference of 1.7 dB between our Shocker XL Train Horn and the high-end real locomotive horns like the Nathan Airchimes, you get the sound of a real locomotive at only a fraction of the cost.
While the sound of our Shocker XL Train Horns is that classic train horn tone, the design is anything but ordinary. Made here in the US, our Shocker XL Train Horns are constructed from the most durable automotive materials available including heavy-duty fiberglass reinforced ABS plastic, stainless steel, and brass. While the fact that they aren’t huge metal horns may make some wonder about the sound or durability, these horns are some of the toughest horns we sell.
Not only do our Shocker XL Train Horns give you a massive sound for a low cost, but they are also the easiest horns to install. The fact that the four individual bells are super light and compact means you can install them just about anywhere. Seriously, we have seen customers install them in wheel wells, front grills, motorcycles, golf carts, backpacks, the list goes on.
Bottom line: As far as matching decibel for dollar, our Shocker XL Train Horns cannot be beaten. You won’t find a horn that is louder without spending a fortune on authentic train horns. Don’t take our word for it though, their ridiculously loud tone speaks for themselves.
Our Quad-trumpet Shocker XL setup is perfect for nearly any vehicle. We have seen these installed on smart cars, sedans, trucks, big rigs, and even boats! Mounting the bells individually allows for extreme versatility and ease of install on nearly anything. The horns themselves are ABS-reinforced Fiberglass. They are not metal, however, they will never tarnish/oxidize in harsh winter climates. Stainless steel diaphragms are used in every single Shocker bell.
These horns will never rust out. Each Shocker bell is loaded with a stainless steel diaphragm. Meant to withstand tough climates, these horns will easily last 10+ years on the same vehicle.
Our Shocker XL's utilize a 1/2" stainless steel solenoid valve.
We use a 1/2" valve with a 16mm orifice to ensure we are getting as much air to the horns as possible. Using anything smaller will severely limit airflow to these horns and diminish their sound.
These horns were designed to offer true train horn sound in a compact package. Each bell is machine tuned for precision accuracy. When all 4 horns are honked at once, these tones come together to create the train horn sound we know. Each set is meticulously tuned for a perfect pitch every time.
These horns feature a manifold-less design. This means each bell can be mounted individually. This makes our Shocker XL horns extremely versatile and friendly in tight spaces. In the past, we have seen these installed behind the front bumper/grille area on smaller vehicles. This tends to work well on nearly any sedan/coupe.

If you already have an onboard air system, this is the perfect kit for you. This kit comes with everything you need to add this horn to your existing onboard air system. This kit does include a 1/2" NPT to 1/2" PTC fitting. If you do not have a 1/2" NPT port available on your tank, you will need a different fitting to adapt to our air line. It is possible to run a smaller line up to our solenoid valve, but doing so will result in a loss of output.
These horns eat air for breakfast. With a 2-gallon tank @ 150 PSI, you can expect 3-5 seconds of honk time. With a 5-gallon @ 150 PSI, you can expect 7-10 Seconds of honk time. These horns are their loudest at 150 PSI. Any higher and they become less efficient. We recommend a 1/2" NPT Port for optimum airflow. Keep in mind that these horns come with a 1/2" NPT Fitting for your tank.
The Shocker XL can be mounted on nearly any vehicle. These horns can be mounted underneath the vehicle, in the front bumper, on the roof, or even in the bed of your truck. The possibilities are endless.
