As one of the 17 essential plant elements, iron is commonly applied in various lawn, turf and landscape settings. Often, Ferrous Sulfate fertilizer is used to correct Chlorosis (yellowing of the leaves). In the plant, iron plays a role in photosynthetic electron transport, respiration, chlorophyll formation, and numerous enzymatic reactions. Due to its use in chlorophyll formation and photosynthesis, Iron (Fe) is often applied to enhance greening without increasing plant growth.
*Large Trees:
Pour Ferrous Sulfate onto surface of soil according to the application rate for your type of plant.
Mix Ferrous Sulfate thoroughly into soil.
Water product thoroughly into soil.
Dissolve Ferrous Sulfate in water according to application rate.
Liquid Application: Pour the Ferrous Sulfate fertilizer solution onto the soil.
Foliar Application: Spray Ferrous Sulfate solution onto plant approximately 6-8 inches from the leaves.
Note: We recommend applying fertilizer early in the morning or late in the afternoon to avoid burning plants.Do not apply when temperatures outside exceed 65 degrees Fahrenheit.
