Tapeworm segments look like grains of white rice and are easily seen around your dog’s rectal region or in their poop. The best way to identify a problem is through an exam performed by a veterinarian.
One treatment with the recommended tablet dose is an effective way to remove common tapeworms. Steps should be taken to control fleas and rodents on the premises in order to prevent reinfection; otherwise, your dog might require another round of deworming.
If your dog has had fleas, there’s a chance they might have tapeworms too. Fleas can carry immature tapeworms, and they can easily infect your dog if they scratch and eat their fleas.
