Bariatric patients can use this commode without worries of it breaking or collapsing. With its robust powder-coated steel-welded frame and sturdy 25.5" wide plastic seat, it can accommodate individuals weighing up to 650 lbs.
The legs are also fitted with rubber footings that prevent the portable toilet from sliding on the floor. This makes transferring the patient from the bed or wheelchair to the commode much safer.
Our bariatric commode comes complete with all standard and essential accessories. It has a snap-on seat with a lid that facilitates easy attachment and removal, a 10-quart sliding pail with a handle, and even a backrest for enhanced user comfort.
There are also armrests to assist patients when lowering themselves into the commode and rising afterward. They're padded, which makes them comfortable to rest on and grab.
Lateral patient transfer is more convenient with the seat’s drop arm design. This allows caregivers to get the armrests out of the way, making it easier for the patient to transfer onto the seat.
It's easy to operate as well. Simply push the release lever and let the arm drop until it rests on the retainer bar. That's it! To return the armrests to their original positions, swing them upward until they lock back into place.
To cater to the height differences among bariatric patients, we designed our portable toilet with adjustable legs. The legs can be adjusted in 1" increments, allowing you to raise the seat-to-floor height between 18.5" and 22.5".
