EasyGenie forms are published by i30 Media Corp., a family-owned business located in New England. Like many genealogists, we got started with family history at home, listening to family stories, looking at photographs, and asking questions about heirlooms and the people who owned them. We want to help others connect with their roots, preserve their research, and share their discoveries.
While some people use Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets to organize DNA matches, it's also possible to use paper worksheets to record information and narrow down the search for ancestors. Paper forms are easy to use, and don't require purchasing Microsoft Office or learning how to use spreadsheet software.
In the early 1980s, my mother had the foresight to make audio recordings with my late grandfather, a U.S. Navy veteran. He shared his life story, from growing up in a rural county, surviving the Great Depression, and settling down after WWII to raise a family.
I discovered the tapes more than a decade later ... and was hooked on family history! I conducted additional research, uncovering letters, photos, and hand-drawn charts.
It dawned on me that what our families have been doing nearly 100 years - preserving stories and research for future generations - is in fact the origin story of EasyGenie. It inspired us to create even better tools to preserve and share genealogy!

You may have hundreds or even thousands of potential DNA matches on Ancestry or other DNA testing services. This simple worksheet allows you to focus on the most promising matches, including people who share lots of DNA and/or people who are from branches that you don't know much about.
List the names of one or more people who have shared DNA with both the person seeking the match and the primary DNA match described on the sheet. The additional names in the shared matches field can cross-reference other DNA Match Profile sheets. (Note: DNA test kit not included)
