Did you know Artist Resin works best in temperatures between 70-75 degrees F? The working time depends on the temperature of the resin and the temperature of the room you are working in. The cooler the resin and the room, the longer the working time. The warmer the resin and the room, the shorter the working time.
CCDIY Ultra Clear is great for the first and second layers of your artwork. You can add another layer after 1-1/2 to 2 hours. Ultra Clear’s low smell and clear formula make this pleasant to work with. Although Ultra Clear has no color, it is a fast curing resin.
Determine how much epoxy you’ll need, prepare your work area, and have your tools ready. After mixing you’ll have somewhere between 5-10 minutes before the epoxy becomes unworkable.
Thoroughly mix equal parts of Resin Part A with Hardener Part B in a clean, dust-free container with a wooden paint stir stick or low-speed mixer. Stir for 1-3 minutes, continuously scraping the sides and bottom of the mixing container. Transfer entire contents into a second container and mix for an additional 1-2 minutes.
Pour immediately onto your artwork, leaving a small amount in the container for edges. Spread epoxy evenly over your surface. After applying, bubbles will appear. Use a propane torch held 6 inches from the surface and sweep rapidly across the entire surface until bubbles disappear.
This will leave a glass-like finish. For the best curing results, room temperature should be between 70-75°F (24-29°C). Cured to the touch in 2 hours, complete cure in 24 hours.
