Once Upon A Time In A Small Town In South Georgia....
The history of the Claxton Bakery began in 1910. Savino Tos, an Italian immigrant, opened a small bakery in the rural South Georgia town of Claxton. The story becomes especially intriguing in 1927 when an 11-year-old boy, Albert Parker, entered the store one afternoon and asked the owner for a job. In 1945, Albert Parker purchased the business and focused his attention on fruitcake. Today, the Parker family still operates the company and ships millions of pounds of Claxton Fruit Cake worldwide.
