You can attach a flag to a result to indicate testing after a meal using the post-meal flag. Flagging your results will help you get a better understanding of why you may be getting certain readings. You can flag your results after testing when the strip is still inserted in the meter. If you do not wish to flag your results, you can simply remove the test strip after testing.
A control solution vial is included in the meter kit to help you self-check the meter and strip accuracy. Make sure that your meter is set as control solution testing mode before testing. You can refer to the control solution range indicated on the strip vial and see if the control solution readings fall within the range. If they are within range, you can be assured that your meter and strip are working accurately.
Insert the test strip into the meter (as pictured) before applying the blood sample.
Collect the blood sample using the lancing device. The depth setting can be adjusted as needed.
