Briggs & Stratton Genuine Oil Filters
Why choose a genuine OEM oil filter?
Only Briggs & Stratton genuine parts are specially designed to exact Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) standards. Not only are Briggs & Stratton genuine parts guaranteed to fit, but using them ensures that the Briggs & Stratton engine they are installed on complies with applicable (EPA) emission regulations.
• Before doing any small engine repair or maintenance, be sure to check your manual for recommendations on specific parts numbers and safety precautions.
How to Change Your Oil
Draining the Oil
Remove the oil dipstick from equipment and using the Briggs & Stratton Oil Extractor Kit place the hose inside the oil reservoir and begin pumping until all oil is removed. Properly dispose of old oil at any recycling center.
Adding New Oil
Once old oil is removed you can add new oil. If equipment requires an oil filter you can remove and replace once reservoir is emptied. When adding new oil, check levels throughout using the dipstick to make sure you do not overfill.
Oil Changing Tips
Briggs & Stratton branded oils are always recommended for Briggs & Stratton engines. Read your owner’s manual for proper oil use. Oil viscosity is determined by the outdoor temperature the equipment is being used in. Replace oil filter yearly or every 100 hours, whichever occurs first.
General Lawnmower and Small Engine Maintenance
Are you changing your oil, replacing your air filter and adding fuel stabilizer to your outdoor power equipment as frequently as you should be? General engine maintenance will help your engine last longer and run better. Using genuine parts on your Briggs & Stratton engine will make sure it fits right and runs the way it’s supposed to.
