What makes this bed frame different from screw-together frames?
It uses traditional mortise-and-tenon joinery – an ancient, rock-solid craft. No screws, no wobbling, no loosening over time. Stronger than metal brackets, and assembly is surprisingly simple.
How much under-bed storage space does this frame offer?
Slats sit about 11" high, but usable clearance is 8". Fits most low-profile storage bins, flat under-bed totes, or shoes. If your bins are taller than 8", please check before buying.
Will the slats scratch my mattress?
No. The slats have a specially designed arched angle that smooths the edges, preventing sharp contact. Safe for memory foam and hybrid mattresses – no damage or wear marks.
Do I need a box spring with this bed frame?
No. The closely spaced wooden slats provide full mattress support on their own. Just place your mattress directly on the slats – no box spring needed. Saves you money and keeps bed height lower.
