Can I overdose pond dye?
Adding additional dye to your pond or lake will deepen the color, but it will not harm aquatic life or vegetation. Follow the dosage rates listed on the product label. Remember that you can always add more dye, but once it's in the water, only time, evaporation, and rainfall can dilute the color.

Will pond dye stain?
If you're concerned about the dye coloring your skin (or your pets) when you swim, don't worry: After 24 hours of being applied to the pond, the dye will not stain. The concentrated form, however, is a different story. It will turn your hands colors, so be sure to wear gloves and work clothes when adding dye to your pond. Once mixed with the water in your pond, pond dye is completely safe for agriculture and irrigation purposes. After treatment, you can use your pond for recreation, fishing, and other activities. Do the darker colors provide more protection?
No, all pond dye colors provide the same protection and are designed to block harmful UV rays from entering the pond. Color choice is a matter of personal preference. Some pond owners even mix colors to create their own custom shade.
Can I use this dye in my small fishpond or water garden?
