Is the Start+ pen safe to use for kids?
Safety is our top priority. The Start+ operates at a low temperature, ensuring there are no hot external parts. The pen tip and filament can be safely touched without risk of burning. The Start+ is best for children ages 6-13.
What size filament does the pen need?
The Start+ uses 2.5 mm filament strands that are low-heat, BPA-free, and non-toxic. At this time, we do not recommend using other brands of 2.5mm filament that have not been safety tested for use with the 3Doodler Start+.
How long will a charged pen last and what type of battery does the pen require?
On a full charge, the pen will last 45-60 minutes, depending on us. It can also be used be plugged in connected via a USB-C charge cable. It uses a built-in rechargeable battery.
What can I draw on?
Because of the low temperature, you can draw on just about any surface, including paper or even your skin. We recommend starting on the included Doodlepad, activity guide, a wooden table, or a countertop.
What can I do if I encounter a problem with the 3Doodler Start+?
To change colors or remove a blockage - remove the maintenance hatch, press the reverse button and pull the filament out.
